Ancient Temple Complex

The largest religious monument in the world, this huge Hindu temple is a masterpiece of architecture built for King Suryavarman II between 1113 and  1150 A.D. It is made of carved sandstone and bricks and was designed to represent Mount Meru, mythological home of the Hindu gods. It is now a Buddhist center. It is surrounded by a moat 570 feet (174 meter) wide and about four miles long.
